The Anchor is an All Volunteer church. From the Pastor to Leaders, Youth to Worship, and more, The Anchor Church is all volunteer-driven. These individuals pursue God’s calling for their lives while devoting precious time, energy, and talent to the ministry.

Pastor Jim Krug served over 40 years working for the Air Force, as both a military member and a civil servant. He was ordained as a non-denominational minister in 1982 and enjoys researching scripture to bring it alive to Christians. He strives to fulfill the instructions to ministers. Specifically, to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God; to mature manhood [and] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-13). His wife Effie serves as co-leader of the women’s SHINE ministry and on the benevolence committee. She often devotes time and attention to other ministries too.
Curt Obrigewitch is a retired Air Force member. He serves at The Anchor in the role of elder. He is also the ministry lead for the Greeters and Ushers, Movie/Game Nights, and the Venture Group. His wife Jana serves as co-leader and vocalist on the worship team. Their son Michael serves at The Anchor as lead sound engineer.
Todd Fister grew up serving, being the child of an Air Force officer. He is an elder at The Anchor and dedicates additional time and energy to the media ministry, as well as tech and website support. His wife Tracy helps to manage the media ministry for The Anchor.
Maryann Makekau is a military veteran. She serves as an elder at The Anchor church. She also helps on the media ministry, finance committee and the Women’s SHINE Ministry. Her husband Chuck is a retired Air Force member; he serves as network and tech support and in the media and cleaning ministries.
Lloyd Erdmier faithfully serves as deacon on the elder board. Lloyd and his wife Claudia serve together in The Bread Ministry.
Children’s Ministry, Captain’s Kidz, & Nursery
Shannon Berry is actively involved with the children’s ministry from its inception. She is married and home-schools their three children. Her personal relationship with Jesus began in 1977.
Debbie and John Oglesby volunteer their time and talent in the children’s ministry. John enjoys teaching the youth about becoming community leaders and disciples for Christ. Debbie serves in the nursery, providing the littlest ones with God’s precious love.
Youth Ministry The Chain
Ben & Alissa Lewis are stationed at Eglin Air Force Base for his active duty service. Together they serve The Anchor church family by being involved in the youth ministry. They also devote time and energy to the music ministry. Ben plays guitar and Alissa is a lead vocalist.
Jim and Audra Schmeits are stationed at Eglin Air Force Base for his active duty service. Audra is a stay-at-home mom for their two children. They dedicate their time to the youth with a goal of creating lasting memories while instilling God’s amazing love in every heart.
Overflow Jr. High Ministry
Roger Cole serves at the Anchor Church by volunteering with the youth ministry. His love and passion for The Word of God is a welcomed sight.
